Type: Planning and organising
Especially suited to: Accounting, BUS110, BUS220, BUS370, Business, Human Resource Management, Management, Marketing
This challenge requires you to research a company that you would like to work for. Some basic information about companies is freely available on the Internet, but the highest quality information with the most editorial verification is available through business information databases, such as Dunn & Bradstreet (D&B) Business Browser.
D&B Business Browser is available through the CSU Library and allows you to find profiles on a range of public and private companies both in Australia and internationally. Profiles summarize a company’s history, executives, financial health, peer analysis, news coverage and other information to help you gain an overall picture of a company. Company profiles are used by professionals that require business information to meet objectives such as:
- Preparing for meetings and sales calls
- Evaluating new business opportunities
- Planning marketing campaigns
- Preparing sales and financial forecasts
To access D&B Business Browser find the link to Journal Databases on either Library website or Student Portal. Select Business from the Browse by Subject link and find D&B Business Browser.
NOTE: This was previously referred to as OneSource : Global Business Browser, and may appear as this for now in the Journal Databases directory.
